Heather Dodd has presented at many architectural schools and forums. Her key interest in the Spatial Tactics for transformational architecture in the housing and education sector was the basis for her PhD Small Moves – Spatial Tactics for Transformation awarded by the University of the Free State. Savage + Dodd is the only African practice to have won two WAFx trophies at the World Architecture Festival. The WAFx awards are part of the main awards program and are selected by judges from the Future Projects category as best examples of design that address major world issues ranging from tackling the climate emergency to building community resilience.
